The retail musical instrument products industry is going through a change very similar to the one consumer electronics retail and many other retailers went through several years ago. National chain stores with enormous inventories and advertising budgets are inundating markets. Many small independent stores cannot compete with the large chain stores. In other words, for a small independently owned store, "it's tough out there."

In musical products retail, Summerhays Music is one such small independent. However, we have no intention of folding to the "big box" stores. Our intention is to be the service, quality, and price leader in our market. There is only one-way to accomplish this goal: great people and great technology.

For Summerhays Music, great technology means Best Enterprise Suite accounting package, Mik & Associates' Fusion Point of Sale Software, and a custom musical instrument rental package all integrated through a MS SQL database.
