Ocean Ridge Golf

To Whom It May Concern:

Mik's "hands-on" TEAM helped make the transition to a good POS system worthwhile!

Ocean Ridge Golf is a mature, planned community that operates three public golf courses, and which services over 1,500 active accounts. We have both residential-based customers and transient population utilizing our facilities. It is mission critical to identify, service, and track Club member and guest usage through the POS front-end. Information exchange with the accounting system must be accurate and timely. We operate four POS terminals in two buildings, which are connected via high-speed modems.

In the early spring of 2001, we had determined that our existing accounting package and retail point of sale system reached the point of obsolescence. Since both system were DOS based and ran independent of each other, the expansion of our company was exceeded only by the growing inefficiency of our accounting system. We had been evaluating the FUSION RETAIL SOLUTION from early on in the selection process and were very impressed with the functionality and ease of use from the beginning. However, no retail point of sale system alone could address the biggest challenge we were facing -- INTEGRATION. We absolutely needed to know what was transpiring in our shops when it happened, not two to three weeks later when we had time to manually input activity into accounting system.

Prior to our implementation of the FUSION RETAIL SOLUTION, we were aware that they had a seamless interface with a variety of accounting packages but did not at that time offer one with the software we ultimately chose -- MAS 90.

Upon our request, the folks at Mik & Associates responded with exactly what we needed. Going into the project of creating an interface between a point of sale and the back office accounting package I was sure there would be certain challenges to be faced and obstacles to overcome. But until we got into the actual process, even I was surprised by how many unique elements, processes and results we required. Kevin Knoll did an absolutely superb job of understanding precisely what it was we wanted and creating the process by which we could achieve our goals. Our Fusion/MAS 90 integration works seamlessly and provides us with exactly what we want in the back office. Our efficiency and accuracy as it relates to Sales, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Control has increased dramatically as a result of the integration.

It must also be pointed out that our migration from our old POS system to the FUSION RETAIL SOLUTION was accomplished without one moment of downtime (considering we operate 7 days a week, this is very impressive). Of course, with anything that is new, there will always be the occasional call to the tech support folks. I can truly say they have treated me in a manner in which I did not believe still existed in the hardware/software business. When I call to talk to Ben Knoll, I talk to Ben Knoll. When I call to talk to Kevin Knoll, I talk to Kevin Knoll. Right then. Not tomorrow, not next week. I do not have "press 1 for technical support" or "remain on the line for the next available representative." The support is the way it should be. I consider this a tribute to the enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism of all those I have been involved with at Mik & Associates.

MIK software fits our business model -- we did not have to change to meet software. Fusion works. Our 4th facility is under development and we have Fusion Retail Solution in our field of vision and in our budget. MIK developers are working with us to help us enhance the feature set. If other business owner/managers using or considering MAS 90 require a good POS system with a "solid handshake" and want our views, please do not hesitate to contact me at (910) 287-1716 or pat@oceanridge.com.
